About the Celebration of Philanthropy

As we look forward to the upcoming year, we invite you to start preparing to submit nominations for the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s Celebration of Philanthropy Awards Luncheon! For nearly 25 years, this event has honored the exceptional individuals, businesses, groups, and foundations whose generosity and leadership have made a lasting impact on our community. Your nominations play a crucial role in highlighting the outstanding philanthropic efforts that strengthen and uplift Anne Arundel County. Get ready to recognize those who go above and beyond in giving back to our community!

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for nomination, all nominees must:

  • Be a resident of Anne Arundel County.
  • Have a demonstrated track record of charitable giving to one or more nonprofit organizations based in and working in Anne Arundel County.
  • Have made a positive impact in the lives of county residents through their giving.
  • Encourage and motivate others to become philanthropic.
  • Self-nominations are not permitted.
  • Parents are not permitted to nominate their child(ren) in any category.
  • The committee will only consider charitable work that is beyond the scope of a nominee’s professional duties.
  • We encourage you to work with your nominee in completing the application.

Nomination Process & Timeline

Nominations must be submitted online. To access the application and submit a nomination, create a user account HERE.

Nomination Timeline:

  • Nominees will receive notification from CFAAC upon receipt of the nomination form, with additional details on the selection process.
  • A selection committee, consisting of CFAAC board members, staff, past recipients, philanthropists, volunteers, nonprofit leaders, and community members, will review all nominations and select awardees.
  • All nominators will receive confirmation within 24 hours of submission.
  • In late August, selected awardees and nominators will be contacted.
  • Awardees will receive two complimentary tickets to the Luncheon on October 29, 2025.
  • Nominations must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Tips for Writing a Great Nomination Narrative

  • Be specific: Provide examples that showcase the nominee’s accomplishments and why they deserve the award. Keep your response to 500 words (3,500 characters max).
  • Public perception: Describe how others regard the nominee, including awards and recognition.
  • Impact: Include results and the impact of the nominee’s charitable work.
  • Comprehensive details: Include all organizations benefiting from the nominee’s contributions to help the committee understand their broader community impact.
  • Collaboration: Work with others, including individuals and organizations, to share the nominee’s story and highlight their impact.
  • Letters of support: Secure letters from those who can speak to the nominee’s contributions.
