2018 Annual Report

I am pleased to provide you with the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s (CFAAC) 2018 Annual Report. We are very grateful to you, the donors, volunteers, and community leaders, who helped sustain CFAAC in 2018 and who continue to invest in our wonderful community. Each year, an increasing number of donors believe in the benefits of CFAAC. Your growing support enables us to provide more funding to local nonprofits and host powerful programs and training to strengthen nonprofit staff, board members, volunteers, and donors. We are thriving…together!

This report features a few new elements that we think are important. A Cumulative Giving list was added to recognize donors who support multiple programs and projects, including our Community Leadership initiatives, the Celebration of Philanthropy Awards Luncheon, and CFAAC’s discretionary grantmaking programs. We also added a section to highlight gifts made in honor or memory of a loved one. The generosity and thoughtfulness of the donors is truly remarkable!

In 2018, the CFAAC staff was called to serve as the administrator of the Capital Gazette Families Fund and the Capital Gazette Memorial Scholarship Fund as a result of the horrific shooting that took place at the Capital Gazette office on June 28, 2018. This special report lists the multitude of donors who offered their support to the employees and the victims’ families. CFAAC was honored to serve in this way and equally honored to recognize the thousands of generous donors who grieved along with our entire community.

CFAAC is extremely proud to list the nonprofits who were the recipients of over $2.3 million dollars in grants made through our fund advisors and CFAAC’s discretionary grants. It is extremely gratifying to see the correlation between the donors acknowledged in this report and the many nonprofits buoyed by their support. Download a copy of our 2018 Annual Report here.

We hope that you feel proud of all you helped us accomplish in 2018. This year is proving to be equally as rewarding.

Transformation, growth, and community strengthening is happening because of you! We are truly grateful.

Warmest wishes,
