2024 Liff, Walsh & Simmons/Eagle Title

Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award

Liff Walsh Corporate

Liff, Walsh & Simmons/Eagle Title’s commitment to Anne Arundel County (AAC) extends far beyond their legal services. Deeply committed to uplifting the community and stepping up when needed, they actively support numerous local nonprofits including The Light House, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Wellness House of Annapolis, and too many others to list, throughout AAC, Maryland, and the nation. In addition to significant financial contributions to local and national causes, they also encourage a strong culture of volunteerism.

Through a Volunteer Day initiative, Liff, Walsh & Simmons/Eagle Title created the opportunity for its 70 employees to collectively volunteer for more than 500 hours with organizations of their choice, whether it is their children’s school, local church, or other community nonprofits.

“The leadership teams at Liff, Walsh & Simmons and Eagle Title have always encouraged their employees to engage in community service, further extending their reach and influence in the community,” said Pam Batstone, Associate Broker, Caldwell Banker Realty. “Over the years, Liff, Walsh & Simmons and Eagle Title’s role as corporate citizens is a benchmark for others, showing that corporate success and meaningful community involvement can go hand in hand.”

“Recruiting and retaining purpose-driven talent remains a top priority for the leadership of Liff, Walsh & Simmons/Eagle Title”, said nominator Elizabeth Gross, Vice President of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC) Foundation. “Liff Walsh & Simmons/Eagle Title chooses to live up to its core purpose of going above and beyond to serve wholeheartedly local community organizations, no matter how large or small, while simultaneously supporting state and national organizations that align with their employees’ passions,” said Elizabeth.

Liff, Walsh & Simmons/Eagle Title has partnered with LHAAMC Foundation in their Fish For A Cure fundraiser since 2018, when Brad and Jay Walsh established (F4AC) team Reel Counsel to honor their mother, Donna Liff Walsh, who ultimately lost her valiant fight against breast cancer. To date, team Reel Counsel raised more than $377,000 for the Cancer Survivorship Program at LHAAMC’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute.

“They bring their energy, hard work, and dedication to make the F4AC fishing tournament, Shore Party, and Paul C. Dettor Captain’s Challenge an unforgettable experience for all those who support cancer care in our community,” said Elizabeth about the team.

The firm is also involved with the LHAAMC Foundation through board leadership positions and giving societies, as loyal corporate sponsors of the Denim & Diamonds gala, and through blood drives and pediatric toy donations.

Many additional local nonprofits benefit from the firm’s time, treasure, and talent. One of them is the Wellness House of Annapolis where Tom Simmons currently serves as board president.

“His legal expertise and standing in the business community were instrumental in guiding us towards gaining financial stability, nurturing exceptional leadership, and building a strong team poised for continued success,” said Mary J. Jermann, Executive Director, Wellness House. “Liff, Walsh, Simmons/Eagle Title exemplifies the true spirit of philanthropy, making a meaningful difference in our community and inspiring others to join in creating a more equitable and compassionate world.”
