In a few short weeks, we must bid farewell to Kristen Krall, CFAAC’s Grants & Scholarships Manager, who joined our team in January of 2019. Throughout her time with CFAAC, Kristen skillfully managed our grant and scholarship programs, working with donors to facilitate their grantmaking, ensuring the nonprofits receiving the grants were carefully vetted, and acting as a liaison for our scholarship committees and recipients. Kristen will be transitioning her role from CFAAC by joining Chaney Enterprises, where she will serve as their new Chaney Cares Director as the company reorganizes its philanthropic work in the community.
A longtime partner and donor to CFAAC, Chaney Enterprises has been, and will continue to be, an important part of CFAAC’s family of funds. We wish Kristen well as she assumes her new role. Kristen brought a great deal of professionalism and kindness to her work with CFAAC. Her willingness to serve as a positive and supportive resource to hundreds of local nonprofit colleagues and donors over the years has been truly remarkable. We will miss her tremendously.
As we say goodbye to Kristen, we are excited to welcome Rosalind Calvin to the CFAAC team in July. With more than 35 years of experience in both the business and nonprofit worlds, Rosalind will bring an extensive, well-rounded skill set to the Grants & Scholarships Manager position.
In this role, Rosalind will be responsible for the management of CFAAC’s grants processing functions including grants made through the Fund for Anne Arundel, Grants 4 Teachers, Help Our Neighbors, Women and Girls Fund, Environment Anne Arundel Fund, and Community Crisis Response Fund, along with supporting our fund advisors as they make grant recommendations from their funds. Additionally, she will be the staff liaison to Anne Arundel Women Giving Together, a 200+ member giving circle that was launched by CFAAC 15 years ago. She will work with area nonprofits to learn about their programs and services so that she can direct them to appropriate funding opportunities as well as bring appropriate nonprofits to the attention of CFAAC fund advisors.
Rosalind will also manage CFAAC’s memorial scholarship programs – Herzberg-Wild Scholarship, Officer Grant Turner Memorial Scholarship, William Bunn Chaney Scholarship, and the Capital Gazette Scholarship.
Rosalind holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Princeton University. For the past nine years Rosalind served as an Admission Counselor at the Key School. In that position, Rosalind was responsible for all aspects of Middle School admissions and was also the Coordinator for Key’s Parent Ambassador Program. Prior to Key School, Rosalind served as the Managing Director, Brand Marketing at Continental Airlines; Director of Marketing at Underwater World Aquariums; Senior Project Manager at Frito-Lay; and Unit Sales Manager at Procter & Gamble.
Rosalind also has a wide range of volunteer experience with local nonprofit organizations including Key School, Eastport Girls Club, Annapolis Gardens Head Start program, The Lighthouse Shelter, and CFAAC’s Anne Arundel Women Giving Together.
