The Chaney Impact Fund, a Donor Advised Fund held at the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, was established in 2018 to advance the charitable mission of the Chaney Family. Dedicated to strengthening communities, the fund prioritizes youth development to foster healthier and more vibrant neighborhoods for generations to come.
Currently, the Chaney Impact Fund is raising support for an exciting capital project: the construction of a brand-new Boys & Girls Club in Lothian, Maryland.
The fund allows the advisors to recommend grants to nonprofit organizations of their choosing, directing financial support to the causes they are most passionate about. It provides the convenience of making charitable donations over time while also allowing the fund’s assets to grow through investment. This structure enables the fund’s advisors to support a wide range of philanthropic interests while maintaining a strategic, tax-efficient approach to their giving.
For the Chaney family, giving back isn’t just a tradition—it’s a way of life, passed down through generations like a treasured heirloom. What began with Eugene “Babe” Chaney, founder of Chaney Enterprises, a ready-mix concrete, sand, and gravel supplier, has grown into a legacy of philanthropy with each generation building upon the one before it.
From the long-running Chaney Bull Roast to hands-on volunteering at local nonprofits, the family’s deep-rooted commitment to giving back has positively impacted the local community for decades. The seeds for giving were planted early. Rebekah (R.G.) Chaney Lare, vice president of Chaney Cares, Chaney Enterprise’s philanthropic arm, said that as long as she can remember, she and her family volunteered. Chaney Cares is currently raising funds for a new Boys & Girls Club in Lothian, MD. The club, slated for opening in 2027, is currently in its planning phase as it raises funds through the Chaney Impact Fund at CFAAC.
