End of Year Giving Deadlines and Reminders

On behalf of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County and the nonprofits you support, we want to express our deep gratitude for your generosity and commitment to our community in 2024. We are dedicated to ensuring your contributions have the greatest impact and maximize your tax benefits.

To help you make the most of your year-end giving, please review the following important dates and details:

Stock Gifts: To ensure your gift qualifies for a 2024 tax deduction, please initiate gifts of appreciated stock by December 20, 2024. This allows time for processing before the December 31, 2024 transfer deadline.

ACH/Wire Transfers: We recommend initiating these by December 20, 2024. Please email Kathy@cfaac.org for transfer details.

Credit Card Donations: Must be completed via our website by 11:59 pm on December 31, 2024.

Checks: Must be postmarked by December 31, 2024, to qualify for 2024 tax deductions. Cash donations must also be completed by this date.

Opening New Funds: New funds can be opened anytime (during business hours) when both the fully executed fund agreement and a donation (cash or non-cash) are received. For more information, contact John@CFAAC.org or Jen@CFAAC.org. Consider tax-smart giving options like appreciated stockQCDs, or bequests when opening a new fund.

CFAAC Fund Holder Grant Requests: If you're planning to make a grant from your fund by the end of the year, please submit your request by Friday, December 13, 2024, to allow time for processing and delivery. You can submit your request online via your account, or by emailing Rosalind@cfaac.org.

Office Hours for the Holidays:

  • Offices will be closed December 24-25, 2024, and January 1, 2025.
  • On December 31, 2024, our offices will close early at 3:00 pm.
