Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County hits $10 million milestone

As the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County nears its 20th anniversary, the organization has reached a major milestone this summer exceeding $10 million in total assets. Over the years, through the community foundation, donors have generously given almost 3,000 grants for a total of nearly $12 million to over 400 unique nonprofit organizations, primarily in Anne Arundel County. Over $300,000 in scholarships have been given to Anne Arundel County high school students.

“Thanks to our donors and community partners, Anne Arundel County is becoming a stronger, more vibrant, and healthier community for all. The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County will continue to work towards growing philanthropy one person, one family, one business at a time. The more of us who give, the more good we can do for our community, together…” said Melissa Curtin, Executive Director.

The foundation remains committed to inspiring and growing philanthropy by identifying critical needs, partnering with donors to help meet their philanthropic and financial goals, and strengthening local nonprofits through grantmaking and collaboration. In addition to grantmaking, CFAAC plays an important community leadership role in multiple ways, including providing the biennial Poverty Amidst Plenty community needs assessment which highlights persistent needs and trends in the county.
