A committee of past award recipients, CFAAC board members, and CFAAC staff selected the following seven awardees: Philanthropist of the Year: Sally Ehrle, nominated by the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation; Volunteer of the Year: Raoul Graves, nominated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County; Corporate Philanthropist of the Year: Thrive Gym, nominated by Walk the Walk Foundation; Young Volunteer of the Year: William Andrione, nominated by Youth Service America; Boots on the Ground Award: Kevin Brown, nominated by BeMoreCaring, Inc.; Carol Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award: Roz Dove, nominated by NAMI Anne Arundel County; and Carroll H. Hynson Jr. Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy: Vincent Moulden, nominated by The Complete Player Charity.
This year, the CFAAC Board of Trustees will also honor retiring CFAAC President & CEO Mary Spencer with the Celebration of Philanthropy Award for her philanthropic work in and dedication to Anne Arundel County. This prestigious award has only been awarded four times in the history of this 25-year event to individuals whose extraordinary lifetime commitment to philanthropy has had a direct and lasting effect on our community. During Spencer’s decades of service in the nonprofit sector, she led fundraising efforts for numerous nonprofits, securing nearly $90 million for local causes.
"Mary’s contributions over the years have made an indelible mark on our community. Her stewardship of the Community Foundation has dramatically increased its funds intended for grantmaking over the past seven years,” said CFAAC Board Chair Larry Clark.
