Chaney Impact Grants Now Available!

Chaney Impact grants will support the work of nonprofit organizations serving Anne Arundel and Calvert counties in Maryland whose focus is on cancer services, or behavioral health and substance abuse treatment.* Grants will support program needs, capital projects, or operating expenses. Award amounts will range between $25,000 and $50,000.

Priority consideration for potential funding will go to requests that address the following:

  • a particularly timely need in Anne Arundel and/or Calvert County
  • are strategic and data-informed
  • offer innovative or creative solutions to a key community challenge
  • collaborate in a way that provides greater leverage for philanthropic investments
  • demonstrate the ability to create a measurable impact

Online applications will be accepted from eligible organizations until July 1, 2019. Inquiries will be reviewed by the Chaney Impact Fund Advisory Committee and the committee will decide which organizations will be invited to make a presentation for funding consideration in mid-August.

To be eligible to apply, an organization must have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service that has been active for two years as of September 1, 2019, and at least 50% of the population served must reside in Anne Arundel and/or Calvert counties. An organization must be in good standing with the Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation and also be in compliance with the Maryland Secretary of State Charitable Organization Registration Requirements.
