(Annapolis, MD, September 25, 2024) The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) will formally induct two local professional advisors into its prestigious Professional Advisor Recognition Society at the 24th Celebration of Philanthropy Awards Luncheon on October 30. This designation acknowledges professional advisors for their commitment and service to the community and their work to support philanthropy and encourage charitable giving in Anne Arundel County. This year’s inductees:

  • James (Jim) P. Nolan, a Partner with Council, Baradel, Kosmerl & Nolan, P.A., views philanthropy as directly helping people in need and supporting the organizations that serve them. That’s why in addition to Jim’s extensive litigation and business experience of nearly 50 years, he has also been a community leader in many bar, civic, and business organizations. He is the current Chair of the Board of Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating and has previously served on the boards of various other nonprofit organizations, including CFAAC.
  • Ellen D. Shiery, a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, said that philanthropy is central to her personal and professional lives. As an advisor, she helps individuals and institutions transform their wealth into lasting significance by integrating their personal values and philanthropic goals into their estate plans.
