Vincent Moulden

Carroll H. Hynson Jr. Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy

Nominated by: The Complete Player Charity

With a gift for bringing people together and opening doors for local nonprofits, Vincent Moulden has quietly become a driving force for equity and inclusion in philanthropy. A natural connector, Vincent not only helps nonprofits secure pivotal gifts, but he’s also right in the mix — volunteering, mentoring, and ensuring that diverse voices are heard.

Nominator Andy Schindling, Founder and Executive Director of The Complete Player Charity (TCP), first met Vincent through Leadership Anne Arundel in 2022. Just two weeks later, Vincent joined TCP on-site, and for the next six months, he showed up twice a week to support its Young Leaders Program. From that point on, Vincent became one of TCP’s most dedicated advocates in the county. He played a pivotal role in TCP receiving both CFAAC’s Fund for Anne Arundel County grant and an Anne Arundel County Community Support Grant in 2022. The grants increased community awareness and led to transformative donations and strategic partnerships, fueling TCP’s growth and impact over the past few years.

“Vincent is someone who prefers to work behind the scenes,” said Andy. “He never seeks recognition, which makes it difficult to fully capture the scope of his impact. But I can say with certainty that his work has reshaped the nonprofit landscape in Anne Arundel County. His influence has led to more diverse nonprofit boards, stronger community-rooted organizations, and an environment that better reflects the people it serves.”

Since joining CFAAC’s Board of Trustees in 2021, Vincent has helped embed a DEI lens across governance and grantmaking, strengthening board diversity and expanding support for small, minority-led nonprofits. He currently serves as CFAAC Board Secretary and is a member of the Executive, Governance and Nominating, and Fund Development Committees.

As the county’s Executive Director of Community Engagement & Constituent Services, he continues to support grassroots nonprofit efforts — most notably connecting partners to ensure the success of the Chase Your Dreams Initiative’s Gun Violence Prevention Weekend. Beyond his formal roles and work with TCP, Vincent has shared his time and expertise with dozens of nonprofits, helping them strengthen operations, secure grants, and build lasting success including helping Superior Future secure funding for its first website.

Former CFAAC Board Member Anne Hamel describes Vincent as a tireless advocate who amplifies voices too often overlooked. Whether through his service on the planning committees or through his consistent efforts to shine a light on community members and organizations doing powerful grassroots work, Vincent is constantly building meaningful partnerships with underserved communities.

“He never seeks recognition — his joy is in service,” added Anne. “He is known for his humility, warmth, and kindness. He listens deeply, shows up when it matters most, and includes others in conversations about how to create a stronger, more equitable Anne Arundel County.”

Erin Snell, PhD, Charting Careers Executive Director, agreed. “Vincent doesn’t seek recognition. He seeks results. As a mentor and after-school volunteer with Charting Careers, Vincent has been a consistent and compassionate presence in the lives of our students. He shows up, not just physically but with his whole full heart and attention.”
