It’s well-documented that the arts can play a powerful role in improving mental well-being. Participating in the arts, whether through music, painting, theater, or dance has been shown to reduce stress, boost self-esteem, and create connections with others. In times of uncertainty or personal struggles, the arts can offer both comfort and hope.
Yet, for many people experiencing stress, anxiety, or feelings of hopelessness, access to the arts may not be readily available. Barriers such as cost, transportation, or limited community programming can prevent individuals and families from participating in creative experiences that can help them heal, connect, and learn.
That’s where CFAAC’s Performing & Visual Arts Fund can make a difference. This new fund provides immediate and flexible support for arts organizations across Anne Arundel County with a major focus on accessibility and inclusion. By investing in programs that remove barriers and expand opportunities, the fund ensures that individuals from all backgrounds have opportunities to experience, create, and appreciate artistic expression. The Fund plans to open a grant cycle in October 2026. Help us build community through the arts by supporting the fund here.
