Bill Hufnell, Billy Hufnell and Amy Francis, part of Modera Wealth Management’s Annapolis team, are dedicated to helping their clients build lasting financial security and meaningful legacies. Their induction into CFAAC’s PARS reflects a long history of guiding clients through tax planning, retirement, estate considerations, philanthropic contributions, and long-term wealth decisions. They have been an effective force for good in Anne Arundel County by providing grants to nonprofits, connecting charitable-minded clients with CFAAC, and building community among professional advisors through the Anne Arundel Estate Planning Council.
Modera’s mission is to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of their clients and colleagues. For many of their clients, that impact extends beyond their own families and into the communities and causes they care about most. Philanthropy is often an important part of a client's financial and legacy planning journey, and the team often turns to CFAAC as a trusted local resource to help make that giving more meaningful and effective. Whether clients are looking to support a specific cause, establish a charitable legacy, or engage the next generation in giving, Modera works alongside CFAAC to help bring those goals to life.
All three agree that the most rewarding part of their job is helping clients use their resources to achieve what matters most to them, from preparing for retirement, supporting future generations, or navigating a major life transition. It is equally gratifying for them to assist their clients in creating a charitable legacy and making a difference in their respective communities.
The Modera team is proof that working together makes all the difference. Merging their skills has created a unique opportunity for their clients to have success. At the helm of Modera is Bill Hufnell, the office’s founder, who, with 20 years of experience, is lauded for his financial skills and his genuine talent for bringing together all aspects of local businesses for lasting relationships. Billy Hufnell, a wealth manager, identifies opportunities to grow his clients’ assets for retirement and future generations. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Anne Arundel Estate Planning Council as the Programs Committee Chair. Amy Francis serves as the company’s Senior Marketing Manager. Before joining Modera, she spent 16 years working at CFAAC, experience she now draws on to build meaningful partnerships and impactful outcomes for their clients and their communities.
The partnership between Modera and CFAAC represents what philanthropy is all about. “Giving back means using our time, talents, and resources to improve the lives of others and strengthen the communities around us,” the Modera team notes. “It is a reflection of the belief that lasting success is measured not only by what we achieve, but also by the positive impact we have on others. That philosophy aligns closely with Modera's mission to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of our clients and colleagues. We are inspired every day by clients who use their generosity to support important causes, expand opportunities, and create meaningful change. Giving back fosters connection, strengthens communities, and leaves a legacy that extends far beyond financial contributions.”
