Dr. Coryse Brathwaite

Medical Director of Perinatal Operations, Anne Arundel Medical Center, Luminis Health

Dr. Coryse Brathwaite began her medical career as an OB/GYN 27 years ago, dedicating herself to the health and well-being of women across a variety of backgrounds. Recognizing the importance of accessible and consistent healthcare for women, Coryse founded her private practice, A Woman’s Place in Charles County, in order to fulfill this mission. During this time, Coryse was also an active member of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, where she collaborated with like-minded leaders to drive change and was awarded the Women in Leadership award for her dedication to her community.

After 14 years of fulfilling her purpose in Charles County, she moved her family to Annapolis, MD. In 2009, she continued her career at Anne Arundel Medical Center, now part of Luminis Health, as an OB/GYN hospitalist. Since 2020, she has served as the Medical Director of Perinatal Operations, where she leverages her business and medical acumen to deliver on Luminis Health’s mission. In this role, Coryse not only strives to provide excellent and empathetic healthcare to her patients, but also prioritizes the learning and development of other providers within the Center to do the same. As a member of the President’s Leadership Council, she is involved in the operations and strategic planning for Luminis Health and is committed to the health system’s vision of focusing on community, wellness, and experience.

Bringing her experience from the hospital to the community, Coryse served on the Board of the Annapolis YWCA and continues to maintain memberships in professional organizations to provide quality healthcare for those most at-risk within the county. A proud wife and mother of four, Coryse spends her time enjoying all that Annapolis has to offer, when she is not serving her patients or giving back to her community.
