Grants 4 Teachers

For Nonprofits

Grants 4 Teachers was launched in 2009 to empower local teachers and counselors with the resources they need to bring their creative ideas to life. Since then, thanks to the generous support of our donors, the Community Foundation has distributed hundreds of grants, totaling more than $100,000, to Anne Arundel County Public School (AACPS) teachers across the county. These grants have funded a wide range of innovative projects that would have been otherwise impossible due to school system funding constraints.

“So many of our teachers have great ideas and don’t know how to launch the fruits of their creative and meaningful thinking.  Your grants give them hope and means to move their dreams forward.”  —Maureen M. McMahon, Ph.D., STEM Coordinator, Anne Arundel County Public Schools

How You Can Help

With your support, we can continue to fund even more creative and impactful projects that enrich the educational experience for students across Anne Arundel County. Your contribution can make a direct impact on our local classrooms; every dollar goes towards funding grants that enable public school teachers to implement their creative ideas. Your donation can help bridge the gap between school funding and the innovative experiences our teachers envision for their students. Together, we can work to provide every child in Anne Arundel County with access to the highest quality education.

How to Apply

Grants 4 Teachers provides financial support to AACPS teachers for creative projects that enhance classroom learning. Here’s how you can apply:

Grants range from $100 to $500. Applications are reviewed and projects are selected by a volunteer grant review committee. The application process is straightforward, and the grants are awarded directly to the school on behalf of teachers.
Application Opens: May 20, 2024 | Deadline: September 27, 2024 | Awards in October 2024

Eligibility, Application and Reporting Requirements

All teachers and guidance counselors working for Anne Arundel County Public Schools may apply. Technology purchases, such as tablets and touchpads, and assistive technology individual students will not be considered. Alternative classroom furnishings, pre-packaged curriculum, or software will only be considered if a creative use to enhance the classroom experience is described. Projects must not have already begun or been fully funded from other sources. Partial funding requests must include documentation of the remaining balance committed from another source, such as PTSA or a local business.

Examples of previously funded projects include musical instruments and art supplies, paperback books for students to take home and share with their parents, field trips to reinforce social studies or science lessons, and technical equipment to promote scientific investigations.

Please keep in mind that many teachers and schools are eligible to apply, so not all creative projects can be funded. Contact the Community Foundation office at grants@cfaac.org or 410.280.1102 x 104 if you have any further questions.
