Kimberly Keith Memorial Fund

About the Organization

The Kimberly Keith Memorial Fund is a Donor Advised Fund held at the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, established in 2024 to support the philanthropic interests of the fund advisor(s). It was created in loving memory of Kimberly Keith.

The fund allows the advisors to recommend grants to nonprofit organizations of their choosing, directing financial support to the causes they are most passionate about. It provides the convenience of making charitable donations over time while also allowing the fund's assets to grow through investment. This structure enables the fund’s advisors to support a broad range of philanthropic interests while maintaining a strategic, tax-efficient approach to their giving.

A Legacy of Light: Supporting Families in Honor of Kim Keith

The Kimberly Keith Memorial Fund was established to create a lasting legacy in honor of Kim Keith by supporting local, nonprofit organizations and programs, especially those that involve families who have been impacted by cancer. The fund was created in memory of Kim Keith, who lived in Davidsonville with her husband, John, and two sons, Jack and Ben. Kim passed away on June 21, 2016, after living with colorectal cancer for seven years. She was only 45.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Kim was an Annapolis-based attorney who graduated from Virginia Tech and George Mason Law School. As a professional, Kim was described as, “An excellent transactional attorney who was attentive to detail, thorough in her research, and had a gift for finding the right words to concisely convey a message verbally or in writing.” One of her greatest strengths, however, was balancing family, fun and her job. She was diligent and worked hard but made sure to prioritize her family and fun outside of work.

Despite having to withstand the complications of cancer and its treatment, Kim maintained a positive attitude in living her life to its fullest. She enjoyed gardening, boating, gathering with friends, and most of all her happiness came from raising her children.

Originally established as the Kimberly Keith Memorial Scholarship in 2017, the fund provided scholarships to graduating high school seniors whose lives were impacted by cancer, either by being a cancer patient themselves or having lost an immediate family member. Now, through its affiliation with The Community Fund of Anne Arundel County, this endowed memorial fund will be able to support other initiatives indefinitely.

Please consider supporting the Kimberly Keith Memorial Fund to help honor Kim’s legacy and continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of families facing cancer. Your gift will ensure that her spirit of compassion and resilience lives on.
