The Family Protection Fund is a Field of Interest Fund at the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC). Its purpose is to support programs impacting the local immigrant community in alignment with the priorities and general welfare of Anne Arundel County.
Created in 2025 through an initiative of the Anne Arundel County Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), the Fund provides a way for individuals, families, businesses, and foundations to invest in the success and resilience of immigrant families. Gifts are pooled together and granted annually to local nonprofits that provide legal aid, family stability resources, and community support.
The Fund is a key philanthropic resource within the Family Protection Initiative, a public-private partnership dedicated to bridging the gap between our shared commitment to due process and the complex issues immigrant families often navigate, particularly the risk of family separation. In FY2026, the Family Protection Fund at CFAAC was established with $300,000 in seed funding from OMA to support nonprofit organizations providing legal aid and crisis services. Building on this foundation, the Fund directs private generosity toward these same goals, helping to reunite families, protect workers, and ensure due process for everyone.
The Family Protection Fund at CFAAC is offering two grant opportunities to support nonprofit organizations and their community partners serving immigrant families in Anne Arundel County. Funding is available for both Legal Services and Crisis Support programs.
