By supporting programs that provide nutritious meals, improve access to healthy food, and promote sustainable food systems, the fund strengthens the network of resources addressing hunger in Anne Arundel County and fosters long-term community resilience.

GIVE TO THE FOOD INSECURITY FUND

Your gift provides immediate support for programs and organizations working to reduce hunger and food insecurity for residents across the county.

GIVE TO THE FOOD INSECURITY ENDOWMENT FUND

A gift to the endowment ensures ongoing, long-term support. The principal is invested for growth, and annual distributions will fund efforts to address hunger in perpetuity.

How to Apply

Successful grant applicants will support projects that reduce hunger and food insecurity among residents of Anne Arundel County. Funded programs may strengthen access to nutritious meals, promote sustainable food resources, and/or address the root causes of hunger to improve long-term stability for individuals and families.

Local nonprofit organizations operating in Anne Arundel County will be eligible to apply.

To be eligible to apply, organizations must meet all of the following criteria:

• Operate in Anne Arundel County (AAC), Maryland
• Have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service
• Be in good standing with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation
• Be in compliance with the Maryland Secretary of State Charitable Organization Registration Requirements
• An organization may submit only one application

Timeline: 

Application Open: February 23, 2026 | Deadline: March 31, 2026 | Award Size: $2,500 | Awards Announced: April 2026

The grant review committee will review all applications and may conduct interviews if necessary. Grants will be awarded at the conclusion of the review process.
