Ways to Give

Achieving Your Philanthropic Goals

At the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC), we believe in the transformative power of giving. Our mission is simple yet profound: to inspire and promote philanthropy in Anne Arundel County by connecting people who care with causes that matter. Whether you’re driven by a desire to improve education, support children’s programs, protect our environment or champion the arts, we are here to empower you on your philanthropic journey.

With a wide range of giving options and personalized support, we make it easy for you to create a lasting impact on causes that you care deeply about.

To ensure your donation gets directed to the right place, please include the fund name with your donation. This could include a donation to support CFAAC, a fund held at CFAAC, or support of a specific CFAAC initiative like a Field of Interest or a Discretionary Fund.

Ways to Give

Partner Investment Program

We offer several investment options to our donors including the opportunity to establish Donor Advised Funds at CFAAC while having your qualified advisor continue to manage your assets and receive investment management fees. Formerly known as the Medallion Program.

Donate from your Donor Advised Fund

If you hold a Donor Advised Fund at CFAAC or at a financial institution, it’s easy to make a donation to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit but you must take action to trigger the grant donation through your online portal or by contacting the organization where your fund is held.

Include CFAAC in Your Will

When leaving a bequest to the Community Foundation or one of its Funds, we suggest that donors keep the language in their wills as general as possible and indicate time without having to incur the expense of rewriting their will.

Open a Fund at CFAAC

CFAAC makes it easy to open a component fund with a variety of options tailored to your needs including Donor Advised Funds, Corporate Advised Funds, Scholarships, Agency/Nonprofit Funds, Field of Interest Funds, Endowments, etc.

Beneficiary Designation Gifts

A beneficiary designation gift is a simple and affordable way to make a gift. You can designate a nonprofit as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or life insurance policy.

Planned Gifts

There are many ways to make a planned gift to the Community Foundation. Explore options such as Charitable Remainder Trusts, Life Estates, and more.

Gifts in Honor or Memory

A tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor someone in your life, or pay tribute to someone special who has passed. When you make a tribute gift, CFAAC will notify the person you indicate, providing your name but not the amount of your gift. You will receive a tax receipt for the gift.

Cryptocurrency

Donate cryptocurrencies through Crypto For Charity. By donating crypto, you avoid capital gains taxes allowing you to maximize your charitable impact.

Other Non-Cash Assets

Making a charitable gift of non-cash assets such as real estate, artwork, vehicles, undeveloped land, etc. can help turn your property gains into community good. Contact CFAAC for your gift to be assessed for compliance with CFAAC’s Gift Acceptance Policy and reviewed by the Gift Acceptance Committee prior to being accepted as a donation.

Endow Maryland

A Maryland state tax credit called “Endow Maryland” can reward donors who help build permanent charitable funds for local communities across the state by offering a tax credit for gifts from $500 – $50,000 to permanent, endowed funds. Based on availability.
