A job candidate is selected because she “speaks our language.” Law enforcement is called on a resident who “looks out of place.” It may seem nearly impossible to keep up with the daily examples of conscious and unconscious bias in the news. This interactive three-hour workshop, hosted by Maryland Nonprofits in partnership with the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights, on 10/30 will start a conversation about unconscious bias and how it affects our everyday lives, our work, and the communities we serve. You'll leave with tips, strategies, and de-biasing techniques that can be applied to any setting.
