Anne Hamel grew up in Baltimore and has lived in Anne Arundel County for the last 23 years.

Anne got her Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton University where she majored in politics with a concentration in French.  Anne then attended the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville where she had as much fun as was humanly possible while simultaneously obtaining a JD.

Anne began her legal career as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Edward S. Northrop on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She then spent 11 years as a litigator at Venable, LLP in Baltimore. The latter half of Anne’s legal career was spent at Corbin, Schaeffer and Aviles, Chtd. in Severna Park, where she was able to practice law while being closely involved in the lives of her children.

After leaving the law in 2015, Anne decided to devote herself to the nonprofit sector. Anne has worked at Woods Memorial Church in Severna Park and The Light House homeless shelter in Annapolis.

Anne joined the board of CFAAC in 2018 and is a member of the Fund Development, Governance and Audit Committees. Anne is devoted to the work of CFAAC and the advancement of philanthropy in Anne Arundel County.

Anne and her husband Warren (a life-long resident of Anne Arundel County) have three adult children.  Her hobbies are travel, sailing, reading, and cooking.
