The science is clear: the first 1000 days, from conception to age three, are critical in the development of a child’s brain and future. An infant’s earliest experiences and relationships dramatically influence long-term brain development, social-emotional growth, and cognitive development significantly impacting future health and success in school and life.
Nationally-recognized expert and keynote speaker Dr. Brenda Jones Harden, Richman Professor for Children & Families at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, will describe how growing up in challenging environments or circumstances can compromise healthy growth unless effective interventions are put in place.
